We are so grateful to everyone who participated in a charity class in July at Mad Fitness! You are not only doing something great for yourself by working out, but at the same time you are helping to support wonderful organizations in our community!! We are so happy to share that in July we were able to raise over $700 to support RYBT!! The Riviera Youth Bike Team (aka RYBT or “Ribbit“) creates a positive impact on the health and fitness of ‘at-risk’ 10-13 year old children by developing and fostering a connection to cycling. They work with kids struggling with issues such as obesity, low self-esteem, bullying, and learning differences. The goal of RYBT is to give children the tools they need to reach and maintain their health and fitness goals in a fun, organized, and supportive team environment, while learning about long-term resources in various cycling communities.
“Thank you, Mad Fitness SB for choosing to support the RYBT (Riviera Youth Bike Team) through charity classes at the gym during the month of July! RYBT is so grateful and humbled to learn that Mad Fitness raised over $700 from the 2 sponsored classes each week!!! This is SO amazing!
Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and taught the classes! For those of you who may not know, the Riviera Youth Bike Team is a non-profit for kids struggling with obesity, low self-esteem, bullying, financial hardship, and learning differences.
The money raised at Mad Fitness will help go towards purchasing bikes, helmets, jerseys, and programming for our next group. Starting August 8th, 15 kids aged 11-13 will begin their training for the SB100 race on October 21 where they will bike 34 miles. They train in the Mad Fitness Spin studio every Tuesday up until the week of the race. It is really important for these to kids to have a safe, fun environment with lots of encouragement to help get them towards their goal of completing 34 long miles in the SB100 race. We can’t thank Mad Fitness enough for the support, not only in the month of July, but year round, as you provide a space for the kids to exercise, gain self esteem, and push themselves to new goals!”
