Thank you for helping Mad Fitness raise over $10,500 for Meals on Wheels in December!

We are so excited to announce that we raised $10,541 during the month of December for Santa Barbara Meals on Wheels.

It was a huge month for us and we wouldn’t have been able to do it without all of you who worked out and supported us during all of our charity classes this month. Although all the elements were against us, our loyal members braved everything from fires, poor air quality, cold weather, and more!

Meals on Wheels is a nonprofit organization that caters to senior citizens, disabled persons, or those who are on temporary or long-term care. The most amazing part about Meals on Wheels is that a majority of their work force is their plentiful and generous volunteers. They deliver nutritious meals to the door step of clients’ homes multiple times a week, 365 days a year. These meals are organized by a register dietician and then prepared and assembled each day at the Valle Verde Retirement Community kitchen. Meals include a main course, two sides, soup, salad, fruit, and even dessert! Meals on Wheels also caters to clients with special dietary needs ensuring that everyone is getting the best care possible based on their individualized requirements. These dedicated workers and volunteers provide more than nutritious meals; their mantra is to “deliver independence one day at a time.”

Despite some impromptu closures and a busy holiday season, we are extremely thankful for all of the donations that we received. In total, we raised over $35,000 in 2017! We knew all of our members were amazing inside and out, but this month was the best kind of reminder we could have gotten! We are enormously grateful for your endless support.

The Mad Fitness Team cannot express how excited we are heading into 2018. Our first Charity of the Month for January 2018 is the Kick Ash Bash, a fundraiser for the Thomas Fire.
