Meet Dr. Ryan Rogers

ryan rogers Sports Medicine

We are excited to introduce Ryan Rogers of Bissell Chiropractic! Ryan is now the “in-house” Sports Medicine/Chiropractor at Mad Fitness and he’s in the gym every Monday!

Dr. Ryan earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic, magna cum laude, from Southern California University of Health Sciences and earned his B.A. in Biology at CSU Channel Islands.

He initially began studying chiropractic after witnessing the healing power first hand when his mother in law was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease. In addition to pain management, Dr. Ryan has extensive experience with sports and sports injuries and has participated in numerous sports over the years including cycling, weight training, surfing, wakeboarding, baseball, snowboarding and golf.

His interest in sports medicine led him to volunteer as a Chiropractor for the Aids Life Cycle, Santa Barbara’s AVON 39 Breast Cancer Walk and participate as a RockTape Doctor for the Crossfit Games in Los Angeles. His diverse experience with sports medicine and sports injuries gives him first-hand knowledge of what specific treatment it takes to return to your sport, along with techniques for minimizing the likelihood of re-injury. Dr. Ryan is also does Kinesio Taping and is certified in Graston Technique, a soft tissue technique, because he believes that doing soft tissue work is just as important to the healing process.

A native of California, Dr. Ryan lives Santa Barbara with his wife Jenna and two Boston Terriers Oliver and Monroe.

Praise for Dr. Rogers

“I would hands down recommend Dr. Ryan to anyone I know. I started seeing Dr. Ryan after an overuse injury and he has been nothing short of fantastic in getting my body back to working properly! He took the time to actually learn about my past as an athlete as well as my current injury to better asses what functionally in my body was causing my discomfort, as opposed to “just treating the painful area”. With his adjustments, he has not only helped in treating my back pain/injury but he has also helped in treating my migraines!”

“Dr. Ryan is fantastic! I highly recommend him to anyone and everyone who has ever had an ache or pain! He can help you, I’m sure of it!  He is very knowledgable and has the perfect personality to be a doctor–he cares about getting you out of pain, making you better, and listening to what you have to say. He is also very patient and did I mention he’s awesome?! I hope you don’t ever need to see Dr. Ryan, but if you find yourself in that situation, hands down, he is the only one you should go see.”
